Steep Slide Sensation!

In the middle of Paradise Island stands three of the most terrifying slides. These three slides are steep, fun, and for extreme riders only. The slides are The Abyss, The Surge, and the very famous Leap of Faith.

Let’s start with everyone’s favorite, Leap of Faith. I feel it is definitely the scariest slide in the park, as it is steep, fast, and you can see everything. Your stomach drops on this ride as you see the nurse sharks below and the steepness underneath you. Not to mention the blazing speed. Half the fun is the visuals, so if you’re scared of heights I would definitely recommend closing your eyes. The best part is right at the beginning, it is finally your turn and you are laying down at the top, slowly inching your way to what feels like doom before you!

The second slide is also a favorite by many. It is on top of the Power Tower, so it is a little longer than Leap of Faith but much less scary. It is mostly dark, so you don’t see anything that could scare you. If you close your eyes of Leap of Faith it feels about the same as The Abyss. There is one thing that’s different, though, which is The Abyss has hills. There is one part that opens up for a brief second to the outside world, before it plummets underground again to the cave.

The slide on the far left is The Surge. It is much steeper at the top of the slide. If you can see in the back it pushes you up with water. The other two slides are The Falls and The Drop.

The last of the steep slides is very unique. It is a combination of The Serpent and The Drop, in my opinion. It has a very fun start, you’re inner tube is on a conveyor belt at the top of the ride. Once it is clear to go, the staff member at the top will make the conveyor go forward just enough so that you fall into the slide and pick up massive speed! The slide has one hump in the middle and is really steep. After you finish the steep part you get shot up with massive powerful amounts of water and go into a tube much like Serpent that is dark and turns in circles that are clockwise and counterclockwise. It finishes in rapids much like the rapids river. I showed a video of The Surge in my last post.
