Even though many people enjoy a relaxing lazy river, for some people it’s not action packed enough. This Waves and Rapids River is perfect for people to relax-and have fun!
The first half of the river is the waves section. A big wave machine creates huge ripples that people go up and down. This is really fun, and somewhat relaxing as well. After a long while of river, it comes to a u-turn, and the second half of the ride!
After the u-turn, you have a bit of lazy river. It doesn’t last long, however, because shortly after you go up a massive conveyor belt so that in the Rapids the water is fast and downhill! After the conveyor belt there is a power tower route that I will talk more about later.
Next comes the second half of the ride-the Rapids! This is like any other Rapids ride, water splashing everywhere, everyone’s going fast and spinning, and everyone’s having fun. This part of the ride is so much fun because of the inner tubes!
As you might remember, after the conveyor belt I mentioned the power tower route. This pathway is shallow and cuts off at the entrance of the Rapids River. This path is actually a line for two slides, the Falls and the Drop. Usually the line isn’t that long, and it’s shaded too. At the end of the line is another conveyor belt that goes up to the power tower. It is a floor below the top, where the Surge and the Abyss is. On the conveyor belt, you get a great view of the slides, excluding the Abyss.
The falls is a less intense version of the Surge, with a less steep drop and less dark tunnel at the end. The Drop is very unique. It starts with a steep drop, then goes in a small tunnel then another drop, then another, and three more drops. This is a very fun ride for people who like adrenaline! The two slides meet up at the end, then eventually end in the middle of the Rapids River where you experience a little more Rapids!
Overall the Waves and Rapids River is an amazing experience with friends, family, or by yourself. If you can go to Atlantis, or are thinking of going, I think you NEED to try this fun and relaxing ride.
